AM I A GOOD CANDIDATE FOR NECK LIPOSUCTION?
Neck liposuction is the best method to remove fatty tissue that has accumulated in the neck. The procedure is designed to permanently remove fat from different compartments of the neck. HOW IS NECK LIPOSUCTION PERFORMED?
Neck liposuction can be performed awake with local anesthetic only or with some form of sedation in the office or asleep at the surgery center. Dr. Gerecci obtains access to the fat in the neck using a small <1cm incision hidden under the chin and sometimes just under the earlobes. A liposuction cannula is used to carefully remove fat from under the skin. It is done in a gentle manner to not over-resect fat and to leave a smooth contoured neck.
WHAT TO EXPECT AFTER NECK LIPOSUCTION
This is an outpatient procedure. Once the procedure is complete, patients can go home with a compressive head wrap that is worn for 1 week. The sutures will remain in place for one week. Patients can expect swelling and bruising around the surgical site, which should both resolve after the first week. Makeup and skin care regimens can be restarted on day 10 after the procedure. Patients usually have minimal downtime before returning to work.
